Prior weather and overnight weather can affect the game field. The following procedures should be followed to determine the playability of a given field:*
Field Status & Field Inclement Weather Phone Numbers:1.) CALL THE FIELD NUMBERS LISTED BELOW, information will be available from the county regarding field closings before it is available anywhere else. 2.) CALL THE PONCE MAIN RAIN LINE - for field status updates and information regarding cancellations due to rain: (703) 591-0069 A recorded message will be left indicating which fields, if any, are unplayable. We try and provide which fields, if any, are UNPLAYABLE and have been determined as such. We cannot reasonably predict which fields will be PLAYABLE all the time, so we recommend you err on the side of caution and show up at your game even if there has been rain 24-48 hours before your game, or if it is doubtful you might play. 3.) CHECK THIS WEBSITE--Field playability will be posted on the website as soon as possible after learning of game cancellations due to weather. 4.) Check your email--we may email blast a notification to all players as soon as possible upon learning of game cancellations, however typically, the decisions to close fields are made last minute and email is not always the most efficient method of communication. *The decision as to whether a field is playable is determined by the Park Department for the Regional Park fields in Maryland. Therefore, players using any of these fields must call the Park in question to determine playability. If the park message is unclear or you can't get through, and you have not heard from us, we suggest you come to the field. Please understand that the decision to cancel games is often a last minute decision. There is no way to guarantee that every player will be informed of these last minute decisions, therefore it your responsibility as a player to determine whether your game is going forward or not, if you believe weather may be a factor. Following these procedures will increase the chances that you will be informed of any such cancellations.
